About Cissy Lewis
Academic administrator Cissy Lewis most recently served as the assistant head of school and interim head of school at Castilleja School in Palo Alto, California. In her leadership role with the school, she oversaw all academic operations and spearheaded the curricular review process. In addition to recruiting and hiring new faculty members, Cissy Lewis implemented a faculty evaluation system and organized professional development opportunities.
Cissy Lewis had previously spent time as assistant head of school at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she helped the school transition from all-boys education to coeducation. She holds a master's of education degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a master's of arts in English from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. She also received bachelor’s degrees in biology and English from Sewanee: The University of the South.
A longtime yoga practitioner, Lanalee "Cissy" Lewis leads a monthly book club for adults and is currently developing leadership seminars using literature as an instructional tool.Education
